Review

Inspired by the seasons in which they grow and the feelings which they evoke, Kevin Kendle's Flowers features eight gentle instrumentals named for different blooms. The lilting flutes on "Daffodils" capture spring's beginnings, "Sunflowers"' undulating piano melody reflects the mellow feeling of a sunny summer day, and "Winter Jasmine"'s delicate synth washes conjure images of flowers blooming in the snow. Though some of the pieces fade into the background a little too easily, Flowers is never anything less than a pretty and soothing album. ~ Heather Phares
