Review

Legendary reggae producers Steely & Clevie rarely miss a step when it comes to cutting edge riddims and Bad Weather is no exception. The stuttering, bouncy beat dubbed "Bad Weather," is this CD's focus and it's a sparkling showcase; from Lexxus' hot "Redder Now," to Tanya Stephens' wickedly naughty "Shetengae." Single riddim collections like this can grow tiresome after awhile, but there's enough variety here, especially with Kiprich's "House Fi Clean," an ode to women who ignore the Caribbean penchant for cleanliness, and Red Rat's humorous "Spooky," to keep things interesting. ~ Rosalind Cummings-Yeates
